AT A GLANCE
Choose based on whether you want bottles at home or an experience with other people.
Two different things can share a name
The phrase wine club can describe a bottle shipment, a shop loyalty program, access to tickets, or a recurring hosted experience. Comparing their prices without checking the model makes the decision harder. Begin by writing down the result you want: a stocked shelf, discovery at home, or a place at a tasting.
The Society is an event-centered membership. Its proposed benefit is one hosted NYC tasting each quarter, with a wine flight, pairings, and social time. It does not include bottles shipped to your address.
Compare the full cost of the thing you will use
For deliveries, examine bottle count, shipping, substitutions, and collection requirements. For events, examine the number of admissions, the food included, the dates, and the journey. A low annual dues figure may buy discounts rather than admission; a bottle subscription may include events only as an extra.
Society membership is $495 per person per quarter. That price should be compared against the complete hosted experience, not converted into an assumed retail bottle allowance. There is no stated value of take-home wine to deduct from the fee.
Let the purchase follow the preference
If you enjoy experimenting privately at home, a delivery service may fit better. If the attraction is conversation and a planned night out, a hosted membership may make more sense. You can express interest in the Society now and decide later when its actual event program is available.
- No home delivery is included.
- No retail purchase credit or bottle allocation is advertised.
- The invitation request is free and separate from subscription enrollment.
