Use your real attendance habits, not an optimistic calendar, to choose a cadence.
Start with a calendar audit
Look at the last three months and identify how many evenings you could realistically have reserved for a tasting. Include work travel, weekends away, caregiving, and recurring plans. That simple exercise is more revealing than deciding that monthly sounds sociable or quarterly sounds exclusive.
A frequent program may build familiarity sooner, but only if you attend. A lighter program may feel more sustainable, though the longer interval can make each missed evening more significant to your experience.
Annualize the cost carefully
Multiply the recurring fee by the number of billing periods, then separate any additional tickets, meals, or transport. Check whether the fee includes events or merely gives access to buy them. The same billing frequency can support very different benefits.
For the Society, $495 every three months totals $1,980 over four paid quarters before applicable taxes. The intended benefit is one hosted tasting each quarter. Dividing that annual figure by twelve can help with a budget, but it does not change the quarterly bill or create monthly events.
Check how billing meets the event calendar
Ask when your first included gathering occurs relative to enrollment. Find out whether the program uses fixed seasonal dates and how late enrollment works. You should not have to infer these rules from the word quarterly.
Also distinguish canceling a subscription from canceling an RSVP. Stopping a future renewal and missing an event in an already-paid period may have different consequences. Read the final event and refund terms rather than assuming one action resolves both.

Pick the rhythm you can enjoy
Choose monthly if the confirmed program and your schedule support frequent attendance. Choose quarterly if you prefer a seasonal occasion and understand what happens between gatherings. Neither pattern is a substitute for reviewing the actual offer.
